  • We are a team of funeral directors and tech veterans who wanted to provide a better experience for anyone planning end-of-life care for their loved ones. Inpeace offers a private, online arrangement process that gives you complete control. We work with a network of likeminded funeral directors and funeral homes in New York and New Jersey to provide one consistent experience and price.

  • A direct cremation is an immediate cremation without any additional services or ceremonies. This option provides families with a more affordable, flexible, and simple way to honor their loved ones after their passing.

  • The Inpeace process is 5 steps in total and takes less than 10 minutes.

  • The legal authority to sign-off on the cremation of a deceased person typically follows a specific order of priority, which may vary depending on the laws of the jurisdiction in question. In general, the order of priority is as follows:

Spouse: If the deceased person was married at the time of their death, their spouse typically has the next highest priority to make decisions about the disposition of their remains, including whether to cremate them.

Adult children: If the deceased person was not married at the time of their death, their adult children typically have the next highest priority to make decisions about the disposition of their remains, including whether to cremate them.

Parents of the deceased: If the deceased person was not married at the time of their death and did not have any adult children, their parents may have the legal authority to make decisions about the disposition of their remains, including whether to cremate them.

  • Timing can vary based on a number of factors, but we generally advise our families that you will receive the cremated remains within 10 days. Death certificates can often take longer (see below).

  • Once we have vital information for your loved one, we file for certified death certificates with the state. These are processed and mail directly to you. This can be the longest step in the process, and we generally advise 2-3 weeks. If there is any delay we follow up with the state authority on your behalf.
